Job Description: | ||||||||||||
Main duties • Maintain accounting systems and records; enforce policies and procedures; and ensure compliance with Dole accounting standards and internal control requirements. • Monitor the local sales agreements with partners. • Monitor the export sales with partners and their adherence to overall agreements such as export volume, prices, loans, payments, etc. • Oversees the general Accounting functions including: managing the monthly and quarterly closing cycles; maintenance of full set of books; and preparation of financial statements and reports. • Prepare analysis to support capital expenditure requests and handle fixed assets accounting. • Leads the budget preparation and monitors performance against budget. • Oversee assets (inventory, equipment, etc) management and monitoring controls. • Interfaces with external auditors, tax examiners and other statutory officers for inquiries, review and audits. • Perform credit management and control; sales and demand planning; and product costing and pricing activities. • Analyze and communicate financial results, perform detailed review of P&L accounts, and escalate and resolve issues in a timely manner. • Perform balance sheet review, conduct research, and resolve issues/ problems related to the general ledger items. • Handles the review and oversight of intercompany balances and preparation of eliminating journal entries. • Handle and/ or supervise expenditure accrual and disbursement. • Ensure timely filing of all Government-related remittances. • Manage tax compliance and resolves tax accounting issues. • Perform relevant treasury functions. • Ensure compliance with J-SOX or Japan’s Financial Instruments and Exchange Law controls. • Coaches, develops, and motivates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function while promoting a team environment. Assists in the hiring, training, and development of Accounting staff. • Performs research of Accounting matters and documentation of Accounting/ tax position papers. • Develops and institutes process-improvement initiatives. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. |

Requirements: | ||||||||||||
• Strong background in Accounting with the right mix of technical Accounting, general ledger Accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and is a CPA. • At least 5-7 years working experience in a supervisory/ managerial capacity, preferably in multi-national company/ies and in the consumer industry. • Must be results-oriented, detailed, proactive with strong follow-through skills, and is trustworthy. • Must have the ability to work well under pressure and with competing/changing priorities. • Strong business sense, leadership, organizational and negotiation skills are essential to succeed in this role. |
